Welcome to outdoor track and field season in Wisconsin! This weather is just not cooperating with us having outdoor meets! Fortunately we didn’t get a blizzard like many parts of the state. Hopefully the weather will start to be nicer to us. As I said last week, I will do my best to keep you all informed when weekday meets get cancelled (hopefully they don’t) and let you know how practice will work then. I will send an email, post on the athletic site, and Twitter.
Here is a link to the results for the meet last Wednesday April 11.
This week we have three meets.
- Tuesday April 17 – West Allis Hale Mondo Invite. INFORMATION (This is the meet re-scheduled from April 15) We did adjust the line-up so we can have girls compete on Wednesday instead of Tuesday. The line-up will be re-handed out Monday.
- Wednesday April 18 – Sussex Hamilton Invite. INFORMATION This is a varsity meet but we are going to take our stronger JV athletes here so we can hopefully get another meet in for them. The line-up will be handed out Monday.
- Saturday April 21 – JV/V Conference relays at Arrowhead. INFORMATION This meet will have JV and V relays. Please let me know if your athlete can not be here for this meet. Relays are hard to create and if we have to readjust them if someone can’t make it, it is even harder because a lot of thought goes into order and athletes put in.
For the meets coming up, please remember to bring lots of extra layers. Hats, gloves, hand warmers, blankets, any extra layers. It is better to have too much, than not enough! (The last meet I packed 4 hats… bit excessive but they all ended up being used!)
Let me know if you have any questions! And everyone have positive mental thoughts for warmer weather!
